September 8 - 13, 2008 - Hosted by the Salzburg Global Seminar - Salzburg, Austria

It is estimated that 75% of new emerging diseases are transmitted between animals or animal-related products and humans, yet there is little coordination between the animal and public health sectors, limited attention to comprehensive prevention strategies, and limited understanding and integration with private sector institutions that are often directly or indirectly impacted.

This event brought together 50 creative thinkers, leaders and stakeholders from nearly 20 countries who might not normally cross paths to explore solutions and devise ways to manage dilemmas that motivate global and local cooperative efforts.
